The 6th Annual St. Matthews Street Festival!
St. Matthews Street Festival Postponed
Rescheduled for August 5
Louisville, Ky. (May 12, 2017) – Below is a statement from Michael Chesser, Executive Director of The Chamber of St. Matthews regarding the 2017 St. Matthews Street Festival:
It is with tremendous excitement, as well as, some disappointment, that the Chamber of St. Matthews announces the rescheduling of our 6th Annual Street Festival from Saturday, May 20 to later this summer Saturday, August 5.
In the course of the festival planning, our chamber staff was hit with three life changing events. All three members of our staff experienced the personal devastation of the loss of a parent or significant family member, all within the course of six week period. For those whom have experienced a loss of this nature will understand the impact both personally and professionally. In our attempts to regain this lost time, the festival planning committee, has found itself working within a poor preparation time to finalize the necessary event sponsors, festival volunteers and exhibitor solicitations.
The Chamber’s board of directors and staff truly believes in the significance of this event to the St. Matthews Community and is making this decision with the best interest of this event in 2017 and in years to come. The event will remain on Frankfort Avenue between the intersections of Bauer Avenue and Lexington Road.
On August 5th from 11am -10pm, Frankfort Avenue between Lexington Road and Bauer Avenue will be transformed into one of the best street festivals in Louisville! You’ll find bands, food, vendors, and activities for both adults and children.
Showcased will be area retailers, restaurants, and live entertainment. Family fun and activities include the free Kids Zone, Fun Zone and Wellness Fair. You find vendors who have something special, unique or delicious to share with everyone!
